Football Star Starts Esports Organization
The footballer in question is Antoine Griezmann. The football star starts esports organization because he is a long-time gamer and he’s very passionate about it.
He made first gaming headlines in FIFA15 when he got banned for coin buying, which is an illegal offense.
Griezmann is taking his love for gaming and esports to another level as he announced the creation of his esports team. The team is called Grizi Esports.
What Games Will Grizi Esports Compete?
From the photo posted on twitter we know that Grizi Esports will compete in Fortnite, League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, FIFA and CS:GO.
The team will be managed by his brother who will take the Head Manager role, and by Antoine Griezmann himself.
Who is Antoine Griezmann?
The French footballer is a global superstar. He is a World Cup winner who currently plays for the Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
He is recognized worldwide and achieved several individual awards like the French Player of the Year, Spanish League Player of the Year, Best Player in Europe Runner Up, World Golden Ball third place on two occasions and many others.
He is also famous for doing the “Take the L” celebration from Fortnite whenever he scores a goal.
What Does the Future Look Like?
Apart from the introduction video posted on Twitter, the football star wasn’t very vocal about his esports organization. These days we could see headlines like “The football star starts esports org and gets 1500 application in 10 minutes”.
Those headlines just prove how good it is that such a high-profile celebrity is investing in esports. Most recently we had a betting billionaire invest in Esports and now a global football superstar.
Antoine and I are genuinely invested in this venture. We’ve always loved video games. I’ll act as manager, leading recruitment, finding players, organizing sponsors. But we’ll make decisions together.
Having such a high-profile name behind an esports organization definitely won’t hurt his chances of attracting the best players, fans, and event sponsors.
The future looks bright for esports.
